Brief Summary for The Wizards of the Blackleaf Forest

The small town of Dawnbrook is where Garris Gray calls home. Here, the laws are strict and the punishments severe. The worse offence? Magic. Anyone accused of using magic will be labeled a Wizard and spend the rest of their lives in a jailcell.

Working in his mother’s bakery, Garris always dreamed of leaving this dull town to explore the vast lands like his father once did before he died. With a place so full of magical creatures and interesting characters, who wouldn’t want to go exploring? So when it seemed like his life was going nowhere, odd disturbances begin to plague the town. Disappearances, strange sounds, and his most valuable possession missing. Could it be the work of Wizards? Most likely, and thanks to the King’s awful paranoia, he gets recruited into the Royal Guard. Well, at least he finally gets to leave his mundane life behind.

But as these disturbances continue, Garris begins to unravel the mystery behind them and find help in the most unlikely places. With the assistance of some new friends, he finds out that Wizards may not be the only threat troubling the lands.
